| RATING - 4/10 TYPE OF APPROACH - Roadside DIFFICULTY - Very Easy LOCATION - Heather Meadows Area TYPE - Curtain HEIGHT - 30' WIDTH - 10' GPS - N48 51.505 W121 40.555 ELEVATION - 4201' |
Heather Meadows Falls is located right next to the Mt. Baker Highway, just before the loop around Picture Lake. The falls are in one of the most photographed areas in the world, so they are seldom noticed. As you can see, they can be very beautiful in their own right. During lower water levels the falls can become much less impressive, but if you get them in the right conditions they can be phenomenal. It's definitely worth stopping to take a picture on your way up to Artists' Point or Picture Lake.

DIRECTIONS - Take
the Sunset exit from Bellingham and drive east on the Mt Baker Highway. The falls
are just off the road about 1/3 of a mile before the loop around Picture Lake
(near the end of the road). Be
sure to walk around Picture Lake while you're there (especially if it's sunny). The
views of Mt. Shuksan are world famous. NEARBY WATERFALLS - Bagley Lakes Falls |
